Exams dates

I'll be having my finals next month. As this is my final semester, so my final exams will be my last exam for Diploma in Business Studies (Accounting). I hope I can pass every paper so that I can graduate together with the majority.

Dates of my papers:
16/1/2009: Tamadun Islam dan Asia - I'll be tested on China, India and Japan civilization. Just need to memorize.

19/1/2009: Business Economics - I like this subject so it will be alright.

21/1/2009: Financial Accounting Practice - I'm alright with certain topics weak in some. Finally got to understand consolidated balance sheet today when my tutor, Ms. Chin enlightened me. Just need more practice.

4/2/2009: Company Law. Firstly, this paper is after Chinese New Year, so I might not be in a celebrative mood during Chinese New Year or I might be in a celebrative mood during CNY and forget about Company Law. Secondly, my lecturer who is also my tutor is not that good doesn't help much. Hope I'll remember the relevant cases and laws for this paper.

Thank you in advance for keeping me in your prayers.

Why so late?

I finally pre-booked Wang Lee Hom's latest album (RM 49.90). I thought Malaysians will also get the album on December 26 but the shop assistant told me that I'll get it early January. Since I pre-book the album, I got a calendar and a booklet.

Anyway, ate 1901 hotdog today. I've been wanting to eat and taste 1901 hotdog. Finally got the opportunity today.

Oh ya, Christmas eve today. Everywhere seems to be packed with people. Must be the last minute rush to buy Christmas presents.

Merry Christmas!

Xin Tiao (Heartbeat)

Wang Lee Hom's MV for his latest single is on Youtube, full version. Love, love, love the song. Can't wait to get my hands on his new album, I'm not sure when it will be on sale in Malaysia. However, according to Wikipedia, it would be released on December 26. Wang Lee Hom is my favourite singer. By the way, do you know that Lee Hom released this song on radio on my birthday, December 8?

Vampires

If only vampires are as good looking as these guys, I don't mind if one bites me.

Gackt and Hyde in Moonchild. I got this from this blog.

The cast of Twilight. Edward Cullen (Robert Pattison) and Dr. Carlisle Cullen (Peter Facinelli). I got this picture from here.

Twilight

My classmates and I skipped, Tamadun (Civilization) lecture today to go to KLCC to watch movie. We watched Twilight. It was nice could be better if some parts were not censored. Man, I didn't know pale people can look so good. My second movie about vampire, the first is a Japanese movie, Moonchild with Wang Lee Hom acting in it. All the pale-skinned actors in Twilight are good looking including Bella who looks more like a vampire. No offence.

After the movie, we went to eat at Sushi King which I didn't know exist even though I ate at McDs which was right next to it and been to KLCC more times than some of my friends. I waited so long for my plate of golden ball to arrive and I had to drop it on the floor. Anyway, I paid with my ATM card. First time doing it. Seems like I don't need a debit card anymore.

Just watched Enya's Trains and Winter Rains music video. I really like her songs, her voice is so ethereal.

As Christmas is coming, Merry Christmas!

Rock-i-fied

That's a new word I learned when I went for Christmas Night last night in my college. Read all about it on Hoc Mun's blog. He was the photographer there. I was actually surprised to see him there because I didn't expect him to be there.

Anyway was listening to Pachelbel Canon in D major on Youtube and click on a link to the rock version of this song played on an electric guitar. This guy is fantastic.

Monday, December 8

Was at 1 Utama to celebrate my birthday. Since it was a public holiday so it was packed with people. Bought the perfume I had been wishing for some time. It's a Christmas gift set: Estee Lauder Pure White Linen Light Breeze Refreshing Duo for RM 160 (worth RM 210). It comes with a 30ml bottle of fragrance and 75ml body lotion. There was a long queue at the cashier, the fact that other cashier on that floor were not open didn't help.

So, that's a birthday present for myself.

Watched 10 promises to my dog (Inu to Watashi no Jyu no Yakusoku). It's a Japanese movie on International Screens at GSC Cinemas. Read about the movie here. It's the first link that came up when I google that movie. By the way, it's a tear-jerker so remember to have tissues near you when you watch the movie.

Had dinner with my family at Korean BBQ Chicken. Must try this place. In 1 Utama, it's located near Subway, new wing.

Listened to Lee Hom's new song, Heartbeat on Youtube. Nice song. No official music video available yet, only a teaser. The link here is for the whole song. I can't wait for his album to come out. Lee Hom rocks!

Spilling it out

Went to The Curve today with Micheal Ooi from Accounting Night Committee. Watched Bolt, it was funny. I like comedies over serious movies but I watch art house films occasionally for a change, you know those movies on International Screens where when you enter the hall, it's like you're the only one who bought ticket for it. Maybe I'm exsagerating.

After the movie, had lunch at Bubba Gump Shrimp Restaurant at The Curve. Since Jonathan recommended it and I trust his taste, since he can be a picky eater. Well I find the food normal, not as good as I expected it to be.

Finally found some time to watch videos on Youtube. Watch David Cook's Light on. I supported David Cook when watching American Idol. I like his style and his voice. And also Beyonce's If I were a boy

If I were a boy...
  • I would make promises that I can keep.
  • I would tell her how much I love and care for her eventhough I know she knows it because she needs to be assured sometimes.
  • I would tell her how much I appreciate her even for the little things she does like making breakfast for me.
  • I would make time for her no matter how busy I am.
  • I will try to understand her, I will listen to her before jumping into conclusions.
  • I will compliment her on how she looks because sometimes she needs to hear those from me.
That is all I can think of right now.

Watching It's over by Jesse McCartney.

CIMA HQ trip

Went for CIMA HQ trip today, thought that I'll be the only January intake student but was surprised to see my another course mate going for the trip as well. Followed the bus there but went home on my own since I stay so near there.

The office isn't very big but looks comfortable. We had an office tour followed by talks. The first is a sharing session on working experience and the second talk was on EQ. The talks were interesting.

After the talks, since we were all really hungry by then, we headed for lunch. The food was good. I like chocolate cake the most but limited myself to only one piece because I don't want to put on too much weight.

After the trip, I went to 1 Utama which was walking distance from KPMG tower, where the HQ is situated. Window shopped and tried on perfumes. My other objective is to look for free calendar which was unsuccessful because I can't find any. The economy must be really bad that companies are not giving out free gifts to consumer like before.

Happy Black Friday, remember not to overspend!

The Green Bench: A dialogue about Leadership and Change

Been reading this book by Matt Rawlins. It's a good book to read, not too thick and not too hard to understand making it convenient for busy people to read.

It's about Business Management and life. I learned a lot about learning from this book.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Recently...

Last night during CYZ meeting, some mainland a.k.a China Chinese which is the original Chinese said that my mandarin is good. Man, I didn't expect that. All along I thought that my Chinese was just so-so. Maybe it had improved over the years, I didn't speak much mandarin in school because most of my friends speak English so it's kind of weird for me to talk to them in mandarin. In my college, I had more opportunities to speak in mandarin. Anyway, they thought I'm from China. I may look like a Chinese national because of my facial features but I'm Malaysian.

There's a possibility that I might work in China in the future as the world is getting flatter and flatter and China is rising up. Being able to speak mandarin fluently would be a plus. I might also want to travel in China, depending on whether I have the money or not.

New on Gmail is that now you can beautify the look and feel of your inbox. There's over 30 colors and themes to choose from. I chose Graffiti because I think graffiti is an art.

The Script

I decided to take a break from studying Tamadun Islam so I just went online to just watch some videos, take my mind of certain things for a while.

Check out The Script's youtube channel. I decided to watch their music video for the song "the man who can't be moved" and I ended up watching other videos there. In case you don't know, The Script is a band from Ireland. I might buy their album. Still thinking, money is a problem here, I have exceeded my budget for CDs&DVDs. So maybe next year. Hope that I can get a job next year.

Recently read: The sky is crazy: tales from a trolley dolly by Yvonne Lee and For one more day by Mitch Albom. The former is a humorous collection of airplane stories from a former air stewardess and the latter is a book that can make you reflect.

CG dinner at Piccadilly

The heavy rain didn't last night didn't stop my CG from having dinner at Piccadilly, located at Millennium Square at a part of PJ which I don't know where. This is one thing about being a passenger, sometimes you don't know exactly where you're going to. It's like life, sometimes you don't know where it's going to take you.

Anyway, back to Piccadilly. I think the price is reasonable, for about RM15, I had a filling plate of Pattaya Fried rice and a glass of Pink Bell (a mocktail, which is cranberry juice+7-Up). I couldn't finish my food so David help me finished it. The serving was XL, I'm serious. Order one plate and you'll get what I mean.

A mocktail looks easy to make, maybe I'll try to make one someday. I can get the recipe from the internet or get creative and create my own!

Looks like the raining season is back,

Carrie Underwood wax figure

My favorite American Idol, Carrie Underwood recently unveiled her wax figure at Madame Tussauds, New York. Read all about it here.

I think she's the most successful American Idol to date, winning many awards and having two successful albums. I have both!

Congratulations Carrie!:)

Watch her latest single, Just a dream music video.

New York is one of the places I want to visit, and now that there's Carrie Underwood's wax figure there, I might start saving money to go.

Carrie Underwood fan,

Negative externality

Externality in Malay is externaliti. It is the uncompensated impact of one person's actions on the well-being of a bystander. It may be either positive or negative.

I had a negative externality today. While staying near a school is good especially when you're late or have to stay back for extra classes and don't like the food in school, you can go home for some healthy and delicious home-cook food.

The downside of it is sound pollution. While I was taking a nap in the afternoon today, my sleep was disturbed by cars honking near the school. The authorities really need to put up a no honking sign.

So that's the negative externality. Business Economics test this Wednesday.

More of positive externality please,
Vicky

Career Fair and FAP

My college had career fair yesterday and today, submitted a few resumes, filled up a few application forms. Made some progress in my job-hunting, anyway, if I don't get an internship, I have a back-up plan.

Had FAP test today, was not prepared for it, well I have to do a lot more better in the next test so that I'm able to sit for the finals because in my college, if you fail the coursework, you can't sit for the final exam. Coursework can be in the forms of test, up to the lecturer.

Kimi ni negai wo

Kimi ni negai wo - Miyavi. Nice song. Like it since the first time I heard it, especially the guitar.

Kimi ni negai wo (English translation)
Even in the dream of that fading day,
even the dusty figure of the future,
because you were always there looking on
even on the most fragile days
even on the road which only detours
I'm getting over it, and am able to exist here even now.

Just what am I lifting, I wonder?
Just what couldn't I lift, I wonder?
Although ever since then I've tried questioning myself,
No matter how many times the door to my heart is knocked on
Even if deep inside my chest my heartstrings are pulled out to look at
all that will come out will only be pleasant memories of fun..
It's simply that, I have always loved you.
That's all, although it's just that,
that was all that was in me.
And even now, I love you unchangingly.

There was a day when in the pretty starry night sky
we lined up to make our wishes
although those wishes have already been forgotten
it would be good if this moment could continue
and we remembered only all the things we thought about.
Now if you think about it, making that wish was good wasn't it?
However, it seems that God isn't here.
At the moment you became a star, I made a vow.
I do not need a God.
You over there, if only you had stayed.

Even today, the town without you
was as its usual rushing, restless self.
It was quite like doing nothing, coming to an end.
With the months and years that trot past
and in the middle of the softly moving seasons,
suddenly I think of going to look up at the night sky.
And then, I quietly made a wish.
A wish upon you who became a star.
「It's alright now, because I can stand by myself」"
But then hey, it's because I'm not alone right?
That's right, I'm living your share too.
You also, have always been living inside me.
That's why, again just like that time
Always be by my side to watch over me

When I wish upon you

left specs at home

I forgot to bring my spectacles to college today. Good thing I didn't have Business Economics, Tamadun or Financial Accounting Practice today. It's just Company Law.

I don't need to look at the board during tutorials while for lectures, what's on the screen is the same as the notes.

I'm still looking for internships, preferably in the accounting field. Anyone have any suggestions where can I apply too?

Best wishes,
Vicky

results out!

Yesterday, I was worried, even during CG about my exam results that I'll find out today. I predicted that I can't sleep at night, but somehow I did. My CG leader, James, told me not to worry about my results, David added that since the exam is over, I can't do anything about it.

Today, I went to check my results, since a lot students are checking theirs too, so I guess the system had faced a higher traffic than normal so I had to reload a few times.

Finally, the moment I was waiting for. I passed every single subject. Now another tick in my answered prayer list. Praise God!

Separate legal person

"A company is a separate legal person" I don't know how many times my Company Law lecturer repeated this since the first lecture. I lost count. And guess what? For my Company Law assignment I have to analyze this "a company is a separate legal person" thing.

It's not that bad actually. Get resourceful. My notes sucks, I didn't buy the textbook because this subject is for 1 semester and the only time I ever read the textbook is when doing research for assignments which won't be very often.

So, I used the Company Law textbook Bernard gave me and also his notes. Bernard, if you're reading this, thank you so much. Both your textbook and notes helped me a lot in getting information for my assignment. I hope you're enjoying yourself in China and that we can have a conversation in Chinese when you get back.

I need to submit my assignment and present in front of the class by Week 5, which is like the 1st week of November while the rest of the class can submit and present later because I got the first question.

My exam results will be out this Saturday. To all my coursemates, all the best!

CIMA Conference 2008

Was at my college for CIMA Conference 2008 for almost the whole day.

Like usual, it didn't start on time but ended earlier than I expected. The game, was interesting, fun and challenging at the same time. Some of the things I learned in the classroom can be applied.

We had to make paper aeroplanes according to the client/facilitator's specifications. My group did pretty well even though we didn't win the top three prizes. Every member of the group were given positions like engineer, CEO, QC manager... I was Finance Manager.

We had to make the targeted number of aeroplanes within a given time limit and then the Finance manager will calculate the cost and profit.

After games, an ex-Tarcian and soon-to-be CIMA member gave a talk as well as another guy working in Shell.

By the way, the ex-Tarcian is currently working for Shell in Miri. I must visit Miri one day. I have friends there and my friend keeps on asking me to move to Miri. He must have love Miri sooo much that he keeps promoting Miri to me. One way I can save money while travelling is to stay at a friend's place.

I think I'll most probably choose CIMA after I finish my diploma which ends next year, February.

Hope that I'll visit Miri one day,
Vicky.

80% complete

Sometimes when on the way to college, on the LRT, I realized that my MP4 had ran out of battery, so for the whole 45 minutes journey, my mind can play songs on its own. Amazing huh?

My internship application is 80% complete. All that's left to do is:
  1. Find out who am I suppose to address my application to.
  2. Send in my application.
Throughout those times of writing resume and cover letter, my aunt guided me.

Grateful for family members,
Vicky.

Makes me happy!

I heard Leavin' while eating in Canteen 1 today. It makes me happy every time I listen to that song, even though it sounds wrong. By the way, I had a piece of Big Apple doughnut today thanks to Mr I-forgot-how-to-spell-his-name. Bump into Andy and Chris, complained about my company law lecturer. He sucks. He has a good track record of students complaining about him, my name can be added to the list. Help!! I don't want to fail Company Law, not in my final semester.

Anyway, another song that I chill out to is...
Why don't you kiss her also by Jesse Mac.

Jesse McCartney Lyrics
Why Don%27t You Kiss Her? Lyrics

This song is really smooth(that's how Chris described it). Something about Jesse Mac reminds me of someone, I can't put my finger on it. But anyway, forget about that someone already, it's time to move on.

Man, I really do need to relax before I burn out.

Japanese here, Japanese there

I'm currently listening to Japanese songs. X Japan is a really nice band. I don't plan to buy their album yet, because I've already exceeded my budget. At the beginning of every year, I will prepare a budget for my expenses and I try to spend within that budget. This year, I amazingly exceeded that budget and I plan to buy Lee Hom latest album as well and I've been waiting for it to come out ever since I first found out that he's coming out with a new album.

Besides that, I had homemade sushi for lunch made by my sister. I helped out a bit but had to study for Financial Accounting Practice. Man, it's theory, theory, theory.

At least in Business Economics there's still some calculations. I like this subject.

I'm going to buy textbooks later. I usually buy textbooks and read them especially the case studies when I have nothing to do. I'm not the type who can sit around doing nothing.

Last laugh

I'm suffering the same thing as Jonathan.

That is the "no time to blog" syndrome. For the past hours, busy with college stuff. Attending classes, re-typing out notes so that my messy handwriting won't add on the stress when exams are near. Not forgetting preparing for CG's worship this week.Yeah, we do sing songs after icebreaker. Last week was an exception.

Anyway, what's wrong with me? I'm starting to listen to X Japan, a now defunct band (I think), they had disbanded and one of their guitarist committed suicide. I'm also starting to like watching Japanese movies. Preparing for Tamadun Jepun, that I'll be learning about soon, perhaps. Or maybe it's something else.

I reading Bible today, and the comment about that message is about letting go. Something I need to do, something I find hard to do. It's tough to let go of past hurts, disappointments and regrets but it's good to let go.

First Day

Today is the first day of my final semester. Had Company Law lecture today. Didn't know that law lecturer also can tell lame jokes. His jokes are so lame that I forgot to laugh.

Anyway, went I got back home, I wanted to file my notes properly and guess what, I forgot to buy colour paper to use as the cover for my notes and also rings, to bind my notes. I totally forgot about it, must be enjoying my holidays too much and forgotten about college.

I received my student bill today. I to pay RM60 for Award Assessment. What's that? Why RM60? Why not just RM10 or better still RM0? Is it tax-exempt? Anyway, the total of my bill is less than RM300 partly because I'm a scholarship holder, partly also because I'm studying at TARC.

So if you have financial difficulties, study hard for your SPM and get good results and later study at TARC.

Rainy afternoon

It rained for hours today. I stayed inside the house, in front of my computer improving my resume. When I'm done with that, I watched Moon Child.

Most people watched it for Gackt and Hyde. I watch it because of Lee Hom. It's a Japanese movie but Lee Hom spoke Mandarin in the movie. He's really cool. It's an action movie. The fighting part is interesting a bit like Matrix. Even though it's in Japanese, the one I watched had English subtitles. The lines are not 100% Japanese, there's a mix of Mandarin and Cantonese as well.

Lee Hom's song, Last Night, in this movie is nice.

A game of badminton

Normally, when my friends ask me out for a game of badminton, I would usually turn down their invitation. You see, I'm not really that good in badminton, I think I'll be picking up the shuttlecock more than hitting it.

Last night, I went to church for cell but only 4 people from my cell turn up so after "icebreaker" we decided to head over to the badminton court to watch the other CG play badminton. In the end, I ended up playing badminton with them until 10pm.

So I played in jeans, barefooted because I was wearing heels. I was also worried that my mascara would run. Amazingly, even though I was sweated a lot, my mascara still didn't run. :). I used Skinfood Chestnut Volume Mascara, so here's one wonder mascara that doesn't run even when you sweat buckets. I'm going to stick to this mascara.

Anyway, back to the game, I played much better than I expected. As in, I managed to hit the shuttlecock more times than I picked it up.

Had fun playing with Noelle, Carmen, Su Shan, Andrew and Adrian and thanks for lending me your badminton racquet!

How have you been lately?

I really like this song when I heard it on the Taiwanese drama series - Dou Niu Yao Bu Yao. I can play it on my guitar already, it's really simple, not too many chords.

S.H.E. - Ni zui jing hai hao ma?

The tag that I missed

RULE: Each player of this game starts off with 15 weird things / habits / little known facts about yourself.
People who get tagged need to write a blog of their own 15 weird habits / things / little known facts as well as state this rule clearly.
At the end, you need to choose 10 people to be tagged and list their names.
NO TAG backs!

  1. I learned to play the harmonica when I was around 15 or 16 because I was bored.
  2. I play Farmwars on Facebook every time I sign in to my FB
  3. I like wearing and buying jeans.
  4. I like collecting samples of perfumes and keeping them in my closet so my closet smells nice.
  5. I think those graffit (most of it) at the drain near Pasar Seni LRT station are a work of art.
  6. I think Jonathan Putra is the most good looking guy alive
  7. I keep a record of my expenses daily. (Sign of a soon-to-be accountant?)
  8. I spend about 20 minutes every morning putting on cleanser, toner, moisturizer, sunscreen, deodorant and lotion.
  9. I believe if I was much thinner, I can walk in high heels for hours.
  10. I prefer original flavor pretzel.
  11. I need to workout with music. Without music, I don't have the mood to work out.
  12. I think guys who can play musical instruments are cool and romantic.
  13. I listened to almost every Lee Hom song before.
  14. I like eating egg tarts.
  15. I'm allergic to certain chemicals found in acne soap. (Thank God, acne is not a major problem for me)
Tag: No one. I can't think of 10 people right now. If you want to do it, you do it lar.

Anyway, this is Taylor Swift latest single - Love Story. I first heard it on radio last night.

Taking a break

Taking a break from resume writing. Hehe. I'm going to work soon, when I complete my diploma. My first time writing a resume.

Watched Nim's Island. It's my kind of movie. Other than comedy, I like fantasy. If like me, you like fantasy, you will 100% enjoy this movie from beginning to the end.

I guess I'm not a chick lit kind of girl. I was reading H.R.H by Danielle Steel and I ended up disliking the main character at the end (which is suppose to be the hero), and I didn't finish Coming out because I find it boring.

I prefer fantasy, stories that will take me on an adventure like Narnia.

Money no enough II

That's the movie I watched after dinner yesterday. It's about love, filial piety. The moral of the story is filial piety, don't be greedy. It's funny as well. Jack Neo's movies like I not stupid, Vietnamese Bride etc are all very funny. I can't wait to watch his movies every time a new one comes out.

Need more time

Don't we all sometimes wish we had more than 24 hours in a day?

I was looking through Cleo Malaysia July issue when I came across this article. I just summarized the whole article.

"How to make more time" by Adrian Christopher. By the way, I skipped the boyfriend part.
  1. The internet. Internet banking where you can pay your bills, pay tax and any other stuff. Comparison shopping, which is what I sometimes do like reading about a product from its website, forums, blogs and so on.
  2. Courier services. The average charge is between RM5 to RM10 per errand. We have a lot of this in Malaysia, the ones that come to my mind right now is DHL and Fedex.
  3. Part-time cleaners. They clean your house for between RM40-RM60 per visit. The professional ones even have industrial-grade equipment.
  4. Car Washers. You see them mostly in shopping mall car parks, in petrol stations. They charge between RM30 and RM50 depending on the size of your car.
  5. Home-delivered food. If you want food delivered from restaurants, there's Room Service

Storm

I can finally play Storm by Lifehouse on my guitar but still need more practice. Nice song. I like the lyrics especially the chorus part. It reminds me of the part where Peter walked on water in Matthew 14. The song is about how with faith, we can do the impossible things that God called us to do. Jesus will help us when we start to drown in a storm and everything will be alright. This is how I interpret it anyway.

Storm Lyrics
How long have I been in this storm?
So overwhelmed by the ocean's shapeless form
Water's getting harder to tread
With these waves crashing over my head

If I could just see you
Everything would be all right
If I'd see you
This darkness would turn to light

And I will walk on water
And you will catch me if I fall
And I will get lost in your eyes
I know everything will be alright
I know everything is alright

I know you didn't bring me out here to drown
So why am I ten feet under and upside down
Barely surviving has become my purpose
Because I'm so used to living underneath the surface

If I could just see you
Everything will be all right
If I'd see you
This darkness will turn to light

And I will walk on water
And you will catch me if I fall
And I will get lost in your eyes
I know everything will be alright
I know everything is alright

Last Friday

I went out with my Accounting Night committee to Mid Valley. I think it's my second or third time going to Mid Valley. Well, Mid Valley isn't one of my favorite shopping malls.

We went there by LRT and later switch to KTM. It was a gathering (only 5 of us came) and also a surprise party for Samantha. We had lunch at Kim Gary, well, the guys did a good job with the surprise birthday thing.

After that, we went to watch The Luckiest Man. There isn't really a plot but it's funny.

We all went home early after the outing as everyone wants to be the crowd. You know how pack the trains can be during peak hours.

In the evening, I want to ACTS church with my cousin for Bloom Conference, it's a woman's conference. YB Hannah Yeoh was the speaker that night. She shared about her story, her experiences. It was very good. She shared about how she obeyed God and acted in faith.

They were really generous with the door gift. Inside, it had loads of stuff from Loreal, GSC, Aiken, Rilax etc. No wonder it was heavy. And there was also Magnum ice-cream.

What's wro-o-ng with the weather?

The weather has been super hot for the past few days. I can barely stand it. Must be global warming. Global warming drives the weather crazy. There's been so much natural disasters lately.

Wang Lee Hom has come out with a new video. I love the electric guitar, but the price can make you faint.

Wang Lee Hom - What's wrong with me

Lifehouse came out with a new video as well. Check it out!

2 comedies in a day

Yesterday, I watched Evan Almighty in the afternoon and then Fun with Dick and Jane late at night.

Both were funny in their own way. And yeah, I like watching comedies especially when Jim Carrey and Steve Carell in it. Those two guys are like the funniest actors around (in my opinion).

Read

I remember asking David one day on MSN messenger what he did during his winter break. This is what he replied back: Read.

So if you ask me now what I did during my semester break, I would say the same thing: read.

Yes, I have been staying home, reading. I wish I could have an extra comfortable chair just for reading.

Last night, I finished reading Memoir of a Geisha. It was engaging and poetic (well, some phrases are poetic). I like the way the writer wrote it, it's like you can picture the characters in the story and well feel it.

Next book I'm reading is H.R.H by Danielle Steel. I'm still in the first chapter.

I found out about Danielle Steel while searching for books on Amazon.com, because I was doing my Access project and I need at least 20 books. And because mine is a bookstore in New York City so I needed lots of chick lits. So that's why I started reading her books. Since she has written lots of books, I presume she must be a good writer.

Have a nice day! I'm going to watch Evan Almighty later today.

Quick updates!

  • Last paper today, Business Law. I think I'll pass, hopefully. Don't expect an A but if I do get an A, that'll be a plesant surprise.
  • After my exams, went over to KLCC. Tower Records is missing, as in it close down already. Oh my, now I can't stop by KLCC to look at CDs anymore. Well, I can stop by Amcorp Mall but I'll have to walk under the sun and cross the road.
  • My favorite perfume, Estee Lauder's Emerald Dreams is out of stock and guess what, it's a limited edition. I didn't buy a bottle at first because I want to try all the other perfumes in case I find one that I like better. You know all these perfumes are expensive but I like them better than diamonds! Yeah, Janice thanks for making me realize, perfumes is my passion.
  • I'm currently reading Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden.
  • There's an interview with Jesse McCartney on Cleo Malaysia September issue, Guy we want, page 350-352. I wished they had asked him more questions about his music, you know, like his work and stuff, he acts as well. But then again, people prefer to know more about his private life instead. I heard his version of Bleeding Love. I like the intro. He co-wrote that song wth One Republic's Ryan Tedder for Leona Lewis.
That's all for now, happy holidays peeps!

MA kanasai

Jesse McCartney's Leavin woke me up this morning, by the way, I use the radio as my alarm clock. So I waited until the whole song finished before getting out of bed at 6.02 am.

Had MA paper today, before looking at the questions, I was confident that I can pass because I thought ABC, limiting factor and questions like that will come out because these are the topics I'm good at but guess what none of those came out so I had to use my common sense to answer the paper. Yeah, it was a tough one but I still have some confidence that I can pass.

To take my mind away from worrying whether I will pass MA or not and just enjoy the cooling weather. I can't sleep. I decided to go online to listen to some songs.

Currently listen to She's No You by Jesse McCartney. I want a guy who can sing that to me and mean it. It makes me feel, precious. Hehe. I can't find a better word right now.

Jesse McCartney - She's No You

I think I'm starting to be a fan of Jesse McCartney.

Song removed

Hi everyone!

How are you? I'm fine been studying for exams. Studying Management Accounting today. I want to pass this paper this paper as it's going to be harder next semester.

I'm sorry, I had to remove Leavin' by Jesse McCartney from my blog if not I won't be able to update my blog at all due to some problem with the computer. I'm using my mom's laptop by the way. There's something wrong with the desktop's hard disk so I had to put up with my mom's laptop.

All the best in your trials/exams!

Cooling day

When I woke up this morning, the weather is so cooling. I hope it'll be like that every morning like in Fraser's Hill or Cameron Highlands. I can save on the electricity bill too at the same time save the environment.

I'm having flu and sore throat for the past few days but it's not serious and I'll get better.

I like visiting my blog because the song, Leavin' is currently playing on my blog. I kept talking about Jesse McCartney yesterday, yeah, I think he can sing and he's kinda hot too ;)

Might not have time to go online as often as I want due to exams. It's just around the corner and I have lots to study.

Here's the lyrics to the song Leavin' by Jesse McCartney if you want to sing along.

Leavin'

The song that's currently playing on my blog and playing on my radio. I hear it on radio almost every single day but I'm not bored of the song yet. It's kind of catchy.

Finals coming

My finals for this semester (this is my 2nd last semester, then I'll graduate!). It'll begin on Friday, 5 September with English. Management Accounting the next day (still good as I don't prepare much for English anyway) Then for the rest of the weekend till Tuesday, 9 September I'll be studying like crazy for Managing Information System (Until today, I have no idea why I'm studying this subject) and thank God for a break in between to prepare for Business Law on the 15 September. I have 60% confidence that I can pass this paper. So pray for me.

English class was canceled today. So I got home earlier. I don't really like staying back in college until 7pm, the college looks so deserted. And I met my primary and secondary schoolmates at the Kelana Jaya Lrt station. I don't know why, the LRT station seems to be the place where I bump into old friends. By the way, the train broke down today. It's the third time I experienced it this semester.

Have you played spot the difference? Where you spot the difference in 2 pictures. I thought of a new game called "spot the similarities". It's spot the difference with a twist. The rules are the same, just that you spot the similarities in the song playing in the two videos. Just click on the links to the 2 videos below and start playing.

7 words

OK, this is regarding the Youtube video I posted on Lee Hom's album promo. When he was lying on the floor singing and playing the piano. This is before 0:50. The words were "Get your booty on the dance floor." Booty is a slang for the word butt.

Normally, I don't watch talk shows. I find them boring but I watch Jimmy Kimmel on Youtube. His is different than other talk shows and it's funny too, very funny. LOL.

Attention: 5 Kemboja 2006 students!
We will be having a BBQ party at Tho Quin's house either on 22 August (Friday) or 23 August (Saturday). Please let me know which date you prefer as soon as possible. Looking forward to seeing all of my classmates again after 2 years. Hope all you could make it.

On a Carnival Ride

"God put us here on this carnival ride, we close our eyes never knowing where it will take us next" - Wheel of The World, Carrie Underwood.

That's part of the lyrics from Wheel of The World, Carnival Ride Carrie Underwood's latest album. After listening to it a couple of times, (I didn't count the number of times I listened to it since the day I got it) I find this album really good. An improvement from her last album, Some Hearts.

She even co-wrote some of the songs on this album like All-American Girl, So Small, Crazy Dreams and Last Name.

Songs on this album that I will replay over and over again are So Small, Crazy Dreams, You won't find this and Wheel of the World.

I guess I didn't waste my money and some of Andrew's money, time, energy and petrol to get this album for me.

This is the promo for Lee Hom's latest album. He looks like he's having fun. How can you not enjoy what you love doing?

I'm looking forward to this album and his concert. I hope he comes to Malaysia.

Olympics opening ceremony

I'm going to watch Beijing Olympics live on Astro at 8pm at my cousin's house. If not I'm going to just be content with watching it "live" on RTM1. Which is actually delayed by half an hour. Why did they call it "siaran langsung" which means live in BM when it's delayed by half an hour. That's not live anymore. Misleading words.

Anyway, I won't be watching it alone. Probably half of the world's population are watching it with me.

Funniest presentation ever

Did my English presentation today. The points that I have to present are introduction (I was the first person in my group by the way), luxury seating and THX halls.

The part on luxury seating was hilarious as I wanted to make it laid back so I used a lot of humor when elaborating the points and ended up laughing myself. It's kind of embarrassing when I couldn't stop but I did manage to control myself in the end.

I didn't talk much about THX halls though as my time is running out.

Overall, I think the one with the most humor among all the three groups that presented today is my group. LOL

Finally...no more assignments for this semester.

Passion conference

Was at Passion Conference yesterday. Didn't regret going. Met up with Taman SEA CFers. Seems like no matter how far we drift apart, we will somehow end up meeting each other without planning to meet each other. I hope you get what I mean.

About the Passion Conference, it was great. Their next stop is in Jakarta tomorrow. The worship and the message was both great. They are from US. You can find out more about it here.

On the way back, I met a couple from Dallas, Texas on the lift. We didn't talk much though. I didn't even manage to get their names.

English presentation tomorrow. Hope everything goes well.

I'm back

I wasn't able to blog the whole of last week but my internet connection was a nightmare. I had things to blog about but it took forever for me to sign in my e-mail accounts, MSN messenger even to blogspot. And even loading a single page was s-l-o-w.

Today is a good day, because my internet connection is fine and I was able to do all the things I can't do the past few days.

Anyway, Business Law is not so scary now that I have a hang of it, just study and attempt all the tutorial questions. I had my test last Thursday, it's simple and easy but I made a couple of careless mistakes.

I'm pretty confident that I'll pass Business Law paper this semester.

Decided to do this tag by Janice, but don't worry I won't be tagging anyone.
  1. When will I wanna get married? -When I have settled down:good job, good income, a house, and a guy by my side who's husband and father material.
  2. Where will you go if someone sponsors you a tour ticket? - What kind of tour ticket? You mean Lee Hom's concert tour ticket to anywhere he's having his concert? OK, I'm packing my bags now. My friends were talking about a maybe Lee Hom concert in Malaysia yesterday and I can't wait for it to become a sure thing.
  3. What's your favorite thing to do? - Enjoying music
  4. Do you think money can buy happiness? - Nope. I have heard of people who are rich but are so unhappy and don't have any real friends.
  5. Do you believe you can survive without money? -That would take great faith. It's impossible!
  6. What are you afraid to lose the most? -Hope
  7. If you win $1 million, what will you do? -Invest, and buy VIP tickets to all of Lee Hom's concert.
  8. List out 3 good points about the person who tagged. A friendly, helpful, sweet gal
  9. If you have only one wish, what will you wish for? That there'll be no distance and time difference between people living in different countries so a long-distance relationship won't need to be tested by those factors. Too many long-distance relationships ended due to those factors. Then it won't be called a long-distance relationship already, fine, loving someone won't be so complicated.
  10. If you could rewind time, would you? -Don't make hasty decisions and use my brain more often when making choices.
  11. What's your ambition? -To achieve all my dreams.
  12. What's your favorite song at the moment? -Gan Qing Xian - 183 club
  13. If you can teleport once, where would you go? -This would be a one way ticket to US

Best "I'm thinking of you" song

The best "I'm thinking of you" song is xing qi liu de shen ye by the guy who doesn't have the herd mentality - Wang Lee Hom. It's the 12th track from his latest album, Change Me.

Anyway, back to this thing about herd mentality, my Management Accounting said that some of us has the herd mentality. For example, when one course mate chooses to do ACCA, the rest just follow without considering if ACCA is suitable for them or not. My Business Law lecturer calls it undue influence. That reminds me, Business Law test next week, got to go study for it.

Petronas did it!

I haven't been reading CNNmoney for ages until my friend I was chatting with online reminded me of the importance of reading business related news. So I'm back at it now.

I like reading lists like top 20 best companies in the world, best places to live etc. I just read top 20 most profitable company by Fortune. Of course the first is ExxonMobil. But Petronas is in the list! So the recent oil crisis might be a blessing in disguise for Petronas huh? Do you know that Petronas contributes more than a third to the government's annual budget? And among the the top 20 companies listed, I think Petronas is the only Malaysian company. Malaysia Boleh!

You know, whenever me and my friends talk about Malaysia, we'll say things like "Nobody knows about Malaysia, people know Singapore and Thailand but not Malaysia." or things like"I want to migrate!" Well, even yours truly said those stuff before but at least we still have some hope.

Done with MA

Finally completed MA assignment, my part at least, on 8.52PM today. I spend few hours last night and few hours tonight just to write about 3 examples of financial and non financial information and to explain why I think such information identified is important not for one company, mind you, but for 3 companies!! Hope all my group members finished theirs. Imagines if this were an individual report, I'll probably be hospitalized due to stress.

Anyway, I can't work with music. Music is what keeps my creative juice going, helping me think out of the box. The album playing is Lifehouse - Who we are (the song playing on my blog, First time is one of the songs in this album). Even though you don't see the hologram sticker on the front, it's original as there's a FBI anti-piracy warning logo at the back. Why FBI warning you must be wondering? Well, Andrew got them for me from US. Yeah, it's CDs cost cheaper there. And I can't find this album in most stores here. Another album he bought was Carrie Underwood - Carnival Ride. Anyway, if it's pirated, it'll probably be confiscated before it even reaches my hands.

I have listen to both a few times over the past few days. Yeah, they were good. I buy original CDs because the sound quality is better.

I can now kick back, relax and enjoy the music because I've finished all my work. Ooops... nearly forgot to study for MIS but that, I have only 2 more chapters to go and prepare slides for English presentation but I might have to wait till everyone has completed their part.

Yesterday and today

Yesterday
After Management Accounting tutorial where I got f-ed by my tutor, what a way to start a day! Man, I would know how to answer that question if he had given more hints as in use this method, you know like in your face kind of thing. Gosh, I don't know how I'm going to survive this subject but I'm a hang on ABC method but can't really recall the traditional method except the headaches it had given me. Accounting is just brain damage. Get a PHD and you'll get Permanent Head Damage.

After tutorial, I head over to KLCC. Yes, I don't leave KLCC with shopping bags but it's becoming a mall that I always go to. Met up with Andrew, haven't seen him for a long time. He changed. He has more muscles, speaks with an American accent.

He bought me 2 Cds, Lifehouse - Who We Are and Carrie Underwood's - Carnival Ride from Walmart. Typical American lifestyle I guess just like how we would go to Tesco, Giant or Carrefour to buy stuff at a cheaper price.

After we bought tickets for Hancock, we had about half an hour to kill so I decided to get something to eat. I need comfort food after getting f-ed. So we walked around while I decide where to eat so we ended up at the foodcourt. I ended up having McDs.

At the cinema, we went into the wrong hall. We were supposed to go to Hall 4 but we went in Hall 5. But it's still ok as the show haven't started yet. Good thing we realized it earlier. Later we walked around the mall some more. KLCC is a boring place you know. Until Wai Yan arrived, then we had lunch....more next time.

Today
Business Law lecturer was not feeling well so she combined the tutorial into the lecture class. After that had lunch, my gang keep making me talk about my crush so much until I was blushing so badly until Managing Information Systems tutorial ended. So I broke a record by blushing for like 3 hours.

Money

And I dream again
you're right by my side
You're back in my arms again
A feeling so sublime
So I dream again
Your beautiful smile
When we're dancing cheek to cheek
Across a thousand miles

That's the chorus part for Dream Again by Wang Lee Hom. My dream has come true, God has answered my prayers.

Anyway, back to the topic on money. I took this quiz during English class last week. It on page 38, Market Leader. The textbook I had to use.

a)know exactly ...cos I count my money
b)know approximately
c)not know at all?

2. Do you normally check:
a)your change? Yes, and demand the cashier to give me the exact change no less. If the cashier gave more, I'll just walk away pretending nothing happened. *guilty*
b)Your bank statements and credit card bills? Yes
c)Restaurant bills? Same as my answer for part a
d)Your receipts when shopping? Same answer as part a
e)Prices in several shops before you buy something? I buy a good because of love at 1st sight and not really because of the price.

3. Do you?
a) give money to beggars? KL beggars are all fakes
b)give money to charities? Only those affliated to my church or Christian organizations. I'm not sure if I can trust others
c)give away used items, such as clothing? Yes, Jumble Station, you can donate to them. It's to help single mothers earn money through selling secondhand items.

4. If you go for a meal with someone you don't know well, do you:

c)offer to pay the whole bill but expect them to pay next time?
d)try to avoid paying anything?

5. What do you think about people who do not pay the correct amount of tax? Is this:
a) a serious crime?
b)morally wrong but not a crime? ...but if you don't pay taxes where is the government going to get the money to subsidize your petrol?
c)excellent business practice?

6. If you lend a colleague a small amount of money and they forget to pay it back, do you:
a)say nothing
b)remind them that they owe you money
c)arrange to go for a drink with them and say you've forgotten your wallet or purse.

Assignments, Assignments, Assignments

Oh my gosh! I don't like assignments but I need them because they're easier than taking a test. At least you don't need to study for it and if it's a group assignment, the work is spread out, albeit sometimes not equally. That's why it's sometimes not good to be better than your peers in English.

I have completed my part for English assignment. What is left is just the power point which I don't know where to start. Now, I have to translate my friends' mandarin report into English. So that's what I get for knowing both Mandarin and English. But his ideas are good, just that he can't speak good English.

For Management Accounting Assignment, I can easily get the information from the internet. But it is easier said than done. Unless you're I'm doing the question on company's background and nature of business. But because my group members think I'm more "pro" therefore should be given a harder question to tackle, so I had to get the financial and non-financial information of the companies. Not easy unless it's Apple, because I would enjoy researching on Apple. Anytime, really.

Managing Information Systems Assignment, I'm going to use my God-given talent of creativity and just market a product that at the moment does not exist in the market. You know, think outside the box, innovative, entrepreneurship bla bla bla.

I also learned something new last night. I learned to play What a Friend We Have in Jesus (a popular hymn) on guitar. It's so easy, I just need to know 3 chords that's A major, D major and G major. Thanks Adrian for teaching me. I really need Jesus now. In fact, I need Him every hour!

Ok, got to go play What a Friend We Have in Jesus on my guitar now.

All the best, mates!

Forever first day

I wanted to post this on Saturday but I just can't wait.

Been listening to Wang Lee Hom's Forever First Day. I've been listening to this song a lot of times already, totally love it. The thing about Lee Hom's music is that you'll never get bored of it and it gets better the more you listen to it. He's a gifted and talented singer, when he makes music, he's involve from the start till the end, that's why it's really worth it to buy his albums.

This song is about long-distance relationship. Long distance relationship is not impossible, but it's hard work. You have to be prepared to cry, and cry a lot. Not only that, you have to pray, and pray a lot you will. Sometimes you will feel like giving up. So I hope that those with friends in long distance relationship will support them instead of telling them how much it won't work.

Anyway, to really feel this song, you have to buy the original album. Why?Because the music tell a story too. First time hearing this? I'm not crazy. I'm serious. You can read about this in Lee Hom's journal.

So in this song, not only the lyrics tell a story but the music as well. Read more about this song from his journal, the first and fourth entry.

I think I can feel the song better now that I understand the emotions in the song after reading about it and can probably relate to it. I think it's a good idea for singers to write about their inspirations behind a song so that the listeners will be able to appreciate it more.

Get Smart

Watched Get Smart at KLCC yesterday with Bernard, I haven't seen him for so long. It was so hilarious, the movie I mean. Good movie to watch. The guy from Evan Almighty, Anne Hathaway and "The Rock" are in the movie.

Feeling sleepy, need to wake up early tomorrow for Management Accounting tutorial class at 8am.

Ciao!

Google with your favorite bands

I was reading about my favorite bands on the net when I found something interesting.

Read it here for Yellowcard fans and for Lifehouse fans click here

Anyway, they're both the same thing. Just Google powered search toolbars where while searching you can earn Swag Bucks which can be used to redeem your favorite bands merchandise. Cool huh? Don't need to spend money to get your favorite bands merchandise.

I'm not sure if other bands have them because I didn't check.

Anyway, I completed Business Law assignment which is due this Tuesday and completed my part for English for Business assignment.

When you're 18

According to the Age of Majority Act, 1971 the age of majority is 18 years.

Age of majority=adult.

Therefore if you're 18 years old, you're already an adult. I'm still 18 and I'm already an adult.

That's something I learned in Business Law lecture today. Now that I know that I'm an adult, I need to start taking responsibility of my decisions and bear the consequences. You know, start acting like an adult.

But there are adults who are still acting like small kids, you see them everywhere.

Business Law is not that tough after all. Think positive. There are people who fail that paper, but that are people who got an A in it too.

And prayer really works! I prayed for God's help and He provided in the form of friends. Yeah, thank God for friends!

Enlightened me

Went to college super early, reach that at 15 minutes to 8am. Why? I had to attend Management Accounting tutorial class. Normally my class is from 1.30PM to 3.30PM. But today and probably from today onwards, I wanted to join my friend's class which starts at 8AM and ends at 10AM as I am carpooling with my friend.

After that, I had brunch, then went to the library. While waiting for my friend, I finished this week's Business Law tutorial questions. When my friend arrived, he started teaching me Management Accounting. Finally, it's not rocket science after all. Thank you Kah Seng!

Anyway, I bet you noticed that there's some music playing at the background. Your speakers are not haunted. I decided to spice up my blog a bit by playing some of my favorite songs. Thanks Janice for letting me know where to look for them.

The song is First Time by Lifehouse. The music video is really cool as well. Anyway, I can't say yet if it's my favorite song on their latest album, "Who we are" because....because...I'll be importing it from US so have to wait for it to arrive here. But it's one of my favorite Lifehouse song. I dedicate this song to the guy who'll be delivering this album to me ;)
